Hey! So Glad You're Here.

My name is Saloni and I am a Junior. I have had severe food allergies since as far back as I can imagine, and due to that food has always become a separator. It became the reason I couldn't eat at a friend's house or the reason I couldn't have my grandma’s cooking. When I was young, I stopped wanting to eat. every meal was a battlefield.  It was terrifying that the thing that kept me alive, could kill me.  I often wondered why anyone should have to feel this way. Shouldn’t everyone be able to enjoy the basic human right of eating? So, I decided that I would stop living in a world of suffering and would start working towards a world of solutions. I have since created a mobile application that helps people find epinephrine injectors around them during allergic reactions as well as find institutions with epinephrine injectors. I also founded an initiative called EveryoneEats that helps provide allergy friendly food to homeless youth and shelters. This website includes information on both programs and links to donate to the EveryoneEats initiative. I believe everyone should be able to embrace the beautiful uniter that is food without fearing for their lives. My name is Saloni Somia and I’m committed to eradicating and lessening the burden of food allergies.
